I started counselling with Lisa a year ago. Over this past year I can see a significant improvement in my mental health. My anxiety was too severe to leave the home. It was overwhelming to face people and having conversations would bring on panic and fear. I couldn't figure out why this would be or how to escape these feelings. Lisa has helped me identify the root causes of my anxiety, fear and shame. Lisa has highlighted the lies that I was believing about myself and others and assisted in creating new truths. Lisa does not push you to talk about things that you do not feel comfortable with, she is kind and understanding. She does not judge you. Lisa has a genuine care and concern whereby she invests deep thought and evidence based practice into guiding people through their struggles. Lisa will often recommend further resources to assist in healing and recovery which I found essential to my own journey.

Lisa is an intelligent, empathetic and wise counsellor, whom I've had the pleasure of connecting and working with, to help me cope with my mental health struggles. She was thorough, gentle and articulate in the way she advised me. Deeply listening to my story and trying to understand, Lisa had a great way of even remembering the little things I'd say. I started seeing Lisa in mid-2020 during the Covid pandemic after having some major struggles with my mental health. I had trialled other counsellors before her, but after our first meeting, I knew straight off the bat—her counsel is exactly what I needed. In our first session, Lisa was incredibly thorough in explaining the possible causes of mental health problems as well as giving me a checklist to make sure there weren't any physical or other causes for my challenges. She has since helped me through therapy, which I just consider in a lot of ways doing exercises and having long conversations with someone I would have considered a friend. 

Lisa is a great counsellor; she is honest, draws from her personal experience, genuinely cares for her clients, and always keeps it real. She even shares parts of her own story, making me feel connected to her and knowing that she truly "gets it". 
Lisa is extremely easy to talk to. I was amazed at her ability to listen deeply—holding space for me to share my experiences and feelings without the fear of judgement or condemnation, and still not leaving me in that space but gently nudging me towards growth and freedom.  

She doesn't pretend to know it all or have all the right answers, but always exercises strong discernment and uses her wisdom to help me to exercise it too.  

After a few weeks of regularly meeting Lisa, I was able to see changes instantly. She helped me move from one problem to the next and empowered me to be free.

Over the two years, she has helped me get to the bottom of my mental health challenges. she has helped piece my story together. 

Her shared resources, countless exercises and tools have made my journey more successful. I know she is heavily invested in seeing me succeed, and that genuine concern translates into how she conducts her business in every way, sometimes even keeping it flexible so that she can be reached.

I first started seeing Lisa for counselling for specific issues, and she's been instrumental in helping me address them.  Lisa works with me and my personality, she takes my concerns seriously and always seeks a way forward by the end of the counselling session.  Every time I see her, I come away either with a practical tool to use in my daily life, or with a new discovery about myself. It was my first time getting professional counselling when I started my sessions with Lisa, and I could not have been more blessed to have connected with the most loveliest counsellor. Lisa’s sweet and empathetic nature made me feel relaxed and comfortable sharing my story and struggles from the very beginning, and I didn’t hesitate to continue booking weekly sessions with her. She made me feel very heard throughout each and every session, which in return, helped me feel completely safe and accepted opening up to her. 

I especially loved how she helped me explore beyond the surface levels of the different emotions I was experiencing, and patiently helped me understand what each of those emotions actually meant. These are conversations you don’t get to have on a regular basis, even with close friends and family, so it was really eye opening being able to navigate through the root causes of some of my personal challenges and struggles. The biggest change I experienced would be practising seeing various situations and circumstances from a different light to how I would habitually interpret them.

I learned more about myself and how to do inner work with her than the other professionals I have tried. I'm in a clearer head space but more importantly, I learned to be present, vulnerable and discerning.
